PENDLETON - Two Pendleton residents were arrested Thursday after law enforcement officials served a search warrant and found about four ounces of methamphetamines and a small amount of marijuana.
The Blue Mountain Enforcement Narcotics Team (BENT) and the Pendleton Police Department's Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) served the search warrant at a residence at 1001 S.W. Nye Ave. Thursday and seized the drugs. The meth has a street value of about $3,200.
Additional investigation revealed a small marijuana grow at a separate location that police believe belonged to one of the suspects. Officials seized three small dried marijuana plants at the location. Police also found two firearms at the residence.
BENT and CIRT officers arrested Jason James Barthel, 24, and Chelsie Marie Griffitts, 20, both of whom live at the home where the drugs were seized.
Griffitts was charged with possession of methamphetamines and frequenting and maintaining a place where drugs are kept or sold.
Barthel received the same charges as Griffitts, in addition to charges of possession of marijuana, three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm and manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana).
