PORTLAND - The Oregon National Guard says two of its soldiers have been killed and another wounded in Iraq.

The soldiers are members of the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team with the 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary).

Capt. Stephen Bomar said Friday the incident happened during a convoy security mission in Baghdad. Bomar said The names of the deceased will be withheld for 24 hours pending release by the U.S. Department of Defense. All families have been notified.

He says the injured soldier was taken to a combat support hospital.

The deaths bring to 19 the number of Oregon National Guard troops killed in Afghanistan and Iraq, said spokeswoman Kay Fristad.
