PENDLETON - Gov. Ted Kulongoski's policy adviser on veterans' issues will conduct several meetings Wednesday in Pendleton.

Paul Evans and former members of the Governor's Task Force on Veterans' Services will discuss the outcome of veterans' legislation during the 2009 Legislature and answer questions.

The first meeting will be with local officials from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Blues Room at St. Anthony Hospital.

The second, a public meeting, will be at 7 p.m. at the City Hall Community Room, 500 S.W. Dorion Ave.

In 2008, Kulongoski formed a Task Force on Veterans' Services to visit 24 Oregon cities and compile, review and evaluate current veterans policies, procedures and programs. The Task Force then developed proposed legislative recommendations for improvements to ensure that Oregon's veterans have access to the services they need and to which they are entitled.
