JOSEPH — The Oregon Fish and Wildlife confirmed an Oct. 25 report that a wolf attacked and seriously injured a cow in the Deadhorse Ridge area of Wallowa County.

The cow was later euthanized, the department reported.

According to the department, the cow suffered a high number of bite wounds on her front right leg and  left and right flanks, as well as her hind leg and rump.

Radio-collar data also showed that the Imnaha-pack alpha male was in the pasture at the time of the attack.
