PENDLETON - Wildhorse Resort & Casino took home a top advertising award at the seventh annual American Gaming Association Communications Awards Presentation and Luncheon on Nov. 12 at the Global Gaming Expo event in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The casino on the Umatilla Indian Reservation won an award for the best broadcast advertisement in radio with its "Hunting Widows Weekend" spot created with Bend advertising agency, Citrus.

The American Gaming Association is the national trade association for the commercial casino industry. It presented the awards to recognize outstanding corporate communications, public relations and advertising in the gaming industry.

The association selected Gaming Voice Award winners in 18 categories. A panel of judges with expertise in advertising, marketing, public relations, Internet design, graphic arts and financial communications evaluated more than 200 entries, the highest number in the award program's history.

Wildhorse Marketing Director Michelle Liberty described the recognition as exciting, particularly because Wildhorse joins the ranks of other prestigious winners, such as Mandalay Bay, MGM Mirage and Turning Stone casinos.
