Many Oregonians like to get out and explore nature, but Oregon Field Guide found one man who combines a love of the outdoors and technology to capture the "sound history" of Oregon's natural environment.

Producer Ed Jahn and editor Michael Bendixen met up with John Hartog at Sauvie Island near Portland, and bring us this audio postcard.

To hear, and see, more of Hartog's  sound expeditions around the state, you can tune into Oregon Field Guide at Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
