The LIN Television company out of Rhode Island, announced Monday that it plans to buy KOIN-TV in Portland -- and 12 other network affiliates.

LIN already has a portfolio of 32 local stations. The plan is to add stations owned by New Vision Television -- for a total of $330 million.

The deal is scheduled to close at the end of the year.

The company hopes to increase the number of U.S. households it reaches from 7 percent to 10 percent.

A company press release did not indicate what might happen to staffing at the stations.
