FOREST GROVE —Alice Josephine ‘Jo’ Browning, 94, of Forest Grove died Sunday, March 6, 2011. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 2 p.m. at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church in Forest Grove.

A reception will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Cremation services were provided by Tualatin Valley Funeral Alternatives. Her cremains have been interred next to her husband, Andy, at the Union Point Cemetery in Banks, Ore. Ms. Browning was born Jan. 21, 1917, to Orval and Mary Ella (Garrigus) Hutchens. She married Andrew Johnson Browning Jr., and they lived in worked in Pendleton from 1958 until 1960 when he was Pendleton city manager.

Ms. Browning is survived by her brother, Richard Hutchens of Clackamas; sons Robert (Pat) of Forest Grove and Douglas (Jo) of Clackamas; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andy in 1966, her brothers Lyle in 1918 and Wayne in 1944 and her sister Mildred Franke in 1966. In lieu of flowers, make a memorial contribution to the church.
