Carl E. Kelso, 76, of Hermiston (formerly of Meacham) died on Thursday, June 29, 2017.

Carl was born December 3, 1940, in Webb City, Missouri, the son of Raymond and Beulah (Lewis) Kelso. At the age of five, he moved to Pendleton where he attended school and graduated from Pendleton High School in the late 1950s. He lived in the Meacham area for over 30 years until moving to Hermiston three years ago.

Carl worked for Marlette Homes for many years. He then worked for the State Highway Department doing road maintenance until retiring.

He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Hermiston where he was past president and also was State Father.

Carl married Virginia Burton in Pendleton on February 23, 1985.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Virginia of Hermiston; six stepchildren; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Burton; a son, Dan Burton; and grandchildren Brandon and Wesley.

At his request, no services are planned. A private family interment will be near Meacham.
