Donald Harris of Sandy, Oregon, formerly of Athena, Oregon, passed away April 28, 2013, in Sandy at the age of 71 years. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Athena Cemetery with Pastor Delbert Durfee of the Athena Christian Church officiating.

Donald was born December 2, 1941, in Pierre, S.D., to Glenn and Claribel Harris. The family moved to Athena when he was 5. He graduated from McEwen High School. On April 11, 1966, he married Gerry Brumbach. He logged all over Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska until ill health forced him to retire.

Donald was an avid hunter. He hunted all over the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and Canada.

Survivors include his daughter, Pam McCormick of Sandy, Ore.; a son, Ryan Harris of Everett, Wash.; 2 sisters, Glenda McGillis of Milton-Freewater, Ore., and Linda Settje of Molalla, Ore.; and four grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1990; his brother Harold Harris; two sisters, Janet Jeffries and Mae Faircloth; and two grandchildren.
