Heather Lynn Gastin, 45, of Pendleton passed away in Richland, Washington, on February 16, 2018.
She was born on January 18, 1973, in La Grande, Oregon, to Lynn Murray and Nancy Hermann. Beginning in childhood Heather was very feisty and you never had to wonder what was on her mind. She graduated from Imbler High School in 1991.
In 1997 Heather moved to Pendleton and worked at the ESD for about six years before returning to school, and graduated from BMCC in 2002. For the last 10 years Heather worked at BMCC as an academic secretary.
On July 3, 2003, she married John Gastin in Newport, Oregon. She enjoyed gardening, collecting owls, coloring, cooking and always enjoyed expressing herself through art.
Heather is predeceased by her grandparents, father Lynn Murray, and sister Kady Murray.
She is survived by her husband, John Gastin of Pendleton; mother Nancy Hermann of Pendleton; sister Heidi Ruth of Pendleton; brother Geoff Olsen of St. Cloud, Minn.; children Zach Mangione of Meridian, Idaho, Levi Coalwell of Watford, N.D., Ryan Gastin of Pendleton, and Travis Gastin of Eagle River, Alaska; nieces Kaila Mendoza of Pendleton, Kim Michaels of Lind, Wash., Morgan Warner of Hastings, Minn., Ellie Murray of Bloomington, Ind., Karlee Olsen of St. Cloud, Minn., and Briela Olsen of St. Cloud, Minn.; and great-nieces Harlee and Peyten.
A Celebration of Heather’s Life will be held at a later date.
