LaWanda Grace Haskett


PILOT ROCK — LaWanda Grace Haskett, 69, of Pilot Rock died Wednesday, May 4, 2011.

Mrs. Haskett was born Jan. 10, 1942, in Tulsa, Okla., to Lonnie and Ruby Sapp. They lived there for six more years, then moved to the Albany area where she met and married her life partner Leo L. Haskett ten years later.

The Hasketts moved to Ontario for a few years, but lived mostly around  Albany, where they raised six children. In 1982 they moved to the Pendleton area, where she co-owned and operated Haskett Consignment Store for many years. After she retired she moved to Pilot Rock.

Survivors include sons Leo L. Haskett Jr. of Scotts Mills, Cyrus Haskett of Echo and David Haskett of Pendleton; daughters Trevia Groesbeck of Hermiston and Twyla Michael of Pilot Rock; four brothers and two sisters; 21 grandchildren; dozens of great-grandchildren; and many family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by son Parley Joe, and the love of her life, Leo L. Haskett.
