Leila Lorraine Wilson, a resident of Pendleton, died Friday, November 25, 2011, in a Hermiston care facility. She was 88 years old.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. and will be in the Burns Mortuary Chapel, Pendleton, Oregon. Private family interment will follow in the Skyview Memorial Park, Pendleton. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon Tuesday, November 29 in the Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Mrs. Wilson was born October 15, 1923, In Pendleton, Oregon. She was the daughter of Archie and Constance (Mentzer) Warner. She was raised and educated in Pilot Rock and graduated from Pilot Rock High School in 1941. She marred Melvin Wilson on August 9, 1941, in Lewiston, Idaho. In 1967 Leila and Melvin built a home on Cabbage Hill at the historical location of Boling Point. They lived there until Melvins ill health took them back to Pendleton.
Mrs. Wilson had been a member of the Emblem Club, and the Allens Dance Club. She and Melvin had both been active in the Senior Center of Pendleton.
She is survived by a sister, Anna Thorpe of Bellingham, Washington, two brothers, Donald Warner and wife Joanne of Pilot Rock and Robert Warner and wife Shirley of Portland; many nieces and nephews who loved her very much also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin, sisters Getta Johnson, Rita Reiman and Nina Carnes, and a brother, Ivan Warner.
