William Shipton

April 18, 1956 — June 9, 2019

On June 9, 2019, Bill Shipton passed away peacefully with his two favorite ladies by his side: his daughter, Nichole Shipton Fandrey, and his loving girlfriend, Bonnie Risley.

Bill fought a 15-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. His struggle came to a peaceful ending after a short battle with cancer. He was 63 years old.

Bill is proceeded in death by his son, Jeremy Shipton; brother, Mike Shipton; and mother, Thelma Hoffman.

Bill was a true country boy, loving rodeo, BBQs, country music, drinking Budweiser, hunting, campfires, and NASCAR. Bill competed in rodeos across the area in wild horse racing. He was proudest of his win at the Pendleton Round-Up in 1985.

Bill grew up in Adams, Oregon, moving to Pendleton when he went to work for Pendleton Woolen Mills. He was a dedicated blue-collar worker. He loved working and instilled his work ethic in his kids. He worked for Harris Pine until its closure. Bill drove log truck for Pine Creek Logging for many years; he loved being part of the crew and was always first to the loading site.

Bill will be greatly missed by his daughter, Nichole; son-in-law, Travas; his two grandsons; love of his life, Bonnie; brother, Tim; sister-in-law, DeeAnn; brother, Steve; brother, Johnny; sister, Karen; best friend, Lou; and many more family and friends who have been touched by Bill’s kindness and love.

At Bill’s request, formal services will not be held. Condolences can be sent via email to nicholette.1822@gmail.com
