Peter Post

HERMISTON — Peter Anthony Post, 76, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Private family burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.

Peter was born Feb. 4, 1934, to parents Arnold and Marguerite (Jorea) Post in Laingsburg, Mich.

Mr. Post was raised in Michigan until he was 12 years old. Then the  family moved to Arizona, where he graduated from Chandler High School. He then met Barbara Patrick and they married in 1951. They were married for 56 years. They had five children together. They lived in Chandler until 1970 when they moved to Monument, Ore. Peter was a bus driver and then opened a café called “Pete’s Place” and ran it for seven years. He later moved to Hermiston.

Mr. Post is survived by his daughters, Shana Geer, Debbie Shaffer and Vivian McKemie; sons, Victor Post and Matt Post; sisters Jane Jarrad, Mary Brakstad and Susie McArthur; and brother Mike Post.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Post, his parents and his brother Donald Post.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Vange John Memorial Hospice.
