Pauline Marie Hoag, formerly of Filer, Idaho, passed away at her daughters home in Pendleton, Oregon, on December 22, 2012.
She was born July 28, 1924, at Elm Grove, New York, to Walter and Grace Pegg. She attended schools in Morris, New York, graduating from Morris Central High School in 1942. She married Arthur Hoag on March 3, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland.
Arthur and she moved their family to Filer, Idaho, in 1956 where he was engaged in farming on the Salmon Tract until his retirement in 1977. Following retirement, Art and Pauline spent many enjoyable winters in Overton, Nevada.
Pauline was a member of the Filer First Baptist Church for 56 years, where she taught Sunday school and served as a deaconess.
She loved working in her garden, doing visitation for her church and playing croquet, checkers and Mexican Train.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur and a son, Dale. She is survived by five children: Beverly Brennan of New Bedford, Massachusetts, Grace (Ray) Herd of Rupert, Idaho, and Arthur B. Hoag (Bonnie) of Twin Falls, Idaho, Wayne Hoag (Sandy) of Truckee, Calif., and Carla (Jim) Harris of Pendleton, Oregon. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the Filer Odd Fellows Cemetery.
