HERMISTON Sandra Marie Sandy Harris, 56, of Hermiston died Monday, March 21, 2011, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Hermiston. Her final resting place will be on the Oregon Coast at Otter Rock.
Mrs. Harris was born Oct. 18, 1954, in Seattle. She was raised and attended school in Seattle until her marriage to John Harris in St. Petersburg, Fla., in 1972.
For almost 39 years, she supported John in their many business and employment ventures in Florida and Portland until 1985, when they felt that the Hermiston community would be a better choice to raise their daughter. The Harrises co-managed the Eagles Club in Hermiston and later owned and operated the Caravan Restaurant. She then worked for Fite Sheet Metal and various bookkeeping positions until recently.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband of 38 years, John of Hermiston; daughter Stephanie of Hermiston; parents Al and Evelyn Nastos of Seattle; brothers Chris Nastos of Redmond, Wash., and Bill Bowker of Panama City, Fla.; sisters Betty Mellein of Maplegrove, Minn.., and Judy Scott of Tahoe, Calif.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
