I wanted to write this note for my husband and myself. My husband, Don Hulick, was recently diagnosed with ALS.

It has been a shock to both of us, and we have wondered what we were going to do to finish replacing the recalled siding on our house and other projects that needed attended to too. His health has deteriorated rapidly, and he is unable to do a lot of things.

Our friends and family have come from near and far away to help us. Don McAllister was instrumental in forming work crews and getting them to our house to work away their days.

There is no way we can ever thank them enough: Renae McAllister-Jafri flew in from Ireland to help; Don and Kelly McAllister, Pete Nielson and Ed Moseman from La Grande; Jerry and Troy Kessler, Barbara and Evan Freel from Milton-Freewater; Doug Coe from Walla Walla, Washington; Don Hammon from Pendleton; and our son Chantz Hulick from Vancouver.

There are not enough words in the alphabet to praise these kind hearts. All we can do is say “God Bless you all,” and may your lives forever be enriched. If you ever need help, we pray that people will drop everything and hurry your way to help you too.

Don and Vivian Hulick
