In November, Pendleton residents will again have an opportunity to make quality of life decisions regarding our city's parks, recreation and cultural resources. Though the last few years have seen the addition of Grecian Heights Park and other improvements, the rest of the city's parks are in need of updating in terms of play equipment, safety, accessibility and basic amenities.

Other important city assets such as the Vert Auditorium, cemetery roads and the mausoleum are similarly in need of improvements. In addition, a safe, centrally located place for our young people to rollerblade and skateboard would be popular and well utilized, similar to the experience of many other Eastern Oregon communities.

On behalf of the other members of the Pendleton Parks and Recreation Commission, I urge you to support this measure.

chairperson, Pendleton Parks and Recreation Commission
