To Reps. Greg Smith and Bob Jenson: I am sure that you do not often hear how much we appreciate you and all the hours and hard work you put in for our communities in Eastern Oregon. We do notice and we do appreciate what you do.

Too often, we suffer in the rural areas, because of the way the votes are spread throughout the state. We know it is very difficult to get anything done in Salem that will help us make our communities more economically viable. Thank you for courageously stepping up to the plate and crossing party lines to do so. That speaks loudly to your constituents in Eastern Oregon, and hopefully state-ide, that partisan politics should not play a part in what is best for our economy and region.

I hope that you will continue to participate in decisions that will assist all of us, regardless of political affiliation.
