My husband and I give to the community through our store a great deal. We realize in a small town each store has to play a larger part in the community simply because there aren't as many businesses to pick up the slack. I was very distressed to see the Salvation Army in such a negative financial state this close to Christmas. They do so much in our towns and many children would know hunger and no Christmas without their help. I'd like to donate $300 to the Salvation Army and challenge all store owners in Hermiston, Pendleton and Milton-Freewater to match or exceed my donation to help all those that need a helping hand this Christmas to see their needs met and hopefully exceeded.
