Regarding the Pendleton High School Day of Silence to show solidarity with gays, lesbians, transgenders, bisexuals and straights:

Life is not ever going to be enjoyable, or even tolerable, for them or people who are tall, short, fat skinny, old, young, disfigured, crippled, retarded, beautiful, plain, Methodist, atheist, legal, illegal, criminal, non-criminal, European, Asian, American, southern, Indian, educated, non-educated, do or don’t wear glasses, don't have teeth, live on the streets, live in the ’burbs, single moms, poor people, rich people, people on welfare, bullies and those who are bullied, bicycle riders, cowboys, or even fat little kids, until the majority of adults decide to step up to the plate and actually be grownups, who teach and model the need for the children to treat themselves and everyone else with kindness and respect.
