Now that the Fourth has passed, the summer exodus to the mountain resorts and to the coast has commenced. Already a number of people have left for various places for the summer, and others will follow in a few days. Tomorrow morning, A.H. Johnson, leader of Johnson's orchestra, will go the Lehman Springs to play for the dances at that resort during the summer. Others in the party, aside from Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, will be Fred Raymond and family and Gus Freeman.

Five Pendleton students are listed on the spring term scholastic honor roll released by Oregon State College. They are Donald w. Chapman, Joyce M. Gustafson, Donald R. Hill, Gary W. Isaac and Laird W. McKee.

July 6, 1982

An unidentified girl is found dead in a ditch, strangled. An 84-year old Pendleton grandmother is found stabbed to death in her home. A 47-year old woman if found in her car on a lonely country road, a bullet in her head. A 78-year old Stanfield woman and a 39-year old Pendleton mother are found mutilated in their homes. All five were killed in Umatilla County in the last two years. All five murders remain unsolved.
