Jan. 30, 1908

At a mass meeting held at the Badgero hall in Freewater, which was

attended by about 300 fruit growers of this section, a Milton-Freewater

Horticultural society was organized. The object of this organization is

to have the growers work more harmoniously for the advancement of the

fruit growing industry.

Jan. 30, 1963

The highest award in Camp Fire was presented to Mrs. S.J. Simons of

Pendleton at the annual meeting of Oregon Trail Council of Camp Fire

Girls. The Luther Halsey Gulick award is given for outstanding service.

Also honored were Mr. and Mrs. Hawley Bean of Pendleton; they were

given an honorary lifetime

Jan. 30, 1983

Blue Mountain Community College agriculture students get hands-on

experience as often as possible. The latest wrinkle is lambing. This

year, instructor Paul Davis is doing most of the work, but he looks

forward to having the students take over. BMCC's Ag Department has only

eight ewes now, but Davis hopes to expand the flock to 20 or 25.
