HERMISTON - A graveside service for Dennis M. Verwey will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Hermiston Cemetery.

Mr. Verwey, 46, a resident of Hermiston since 2001, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at his home in Hermiston.

He was born Dec. 6, 1957, at Grand Haven, Mich., to Edward and Carrie Jo VanDerfifer Verwey. He grew up and attended schools in Michigan.

He had worked in construction, as a diesel mechanic, and in machinery maintenance while in Michigan. He moved to Hermiston in February 2001.

Mr. Verwey enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Jo Verwey in Michigan; his stepmother, Mary Ann Stulp in Michigan; brothers, John Verwey in Michigan, Brian Verwey of Hermiston, and Craig Verwey, in California; sisters, Vanessa Verwey, Lori Baker, Chris Barnes, and Janice Emmert, all in Michigan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
