HERMISTON - A funeral service for Doris Allena Davis will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel at Burns Mortuary of Hermiston followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at the Lexington Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis, 80, a native of Heppner and a former Pendleton resident, died Friday, April 16, 2004, at an Irrigon foster care home.

She was born Sept. 27, 1923, at Heppner, to Ralph and Elma Moore Scott. She graduated from high school at Lexington in 1941.

After graduation she moved to Pendleton where she took a secretarial course at Pendleton Field Airbase then moved to Portland where she was employed in the office at the shipyards for a couple of years before returning to Pendleton where she married Clayton T. Davis in 1946.

She was a stay-at-home mom while her children were small and then was employed by the Oregon Revenue Service until her retirement.

Survivors include her children; sons Ted Davis and wife, Mary Ann, and son, Cary Davis, all of Heppner; daughter, Martha Gover and husband, Bill, of Boardman; sister, Aileen Nisbet of Wasco, and brother, Bill Scott of Heppner; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton in 1993, by her parents, by one sister and by two infant sons.
