HERMISTON - A memorial graveside service for Doris Lucille Pugh will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hermiston Cemetery. Disposition was by cremation.

Mrs. Pugh, 89, of Hermiston, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at Canyon Lakes Restorative and Rehabilitation Center in Kennewick.

She was born Oct. 6, 1913, at Daniel, Wyo., to David and Mary Hurlburt Scott. She attended a one-room school until she was 12, attended a private high school, then returned home to teach at that one-room school for two years. She then attended the University of Wyoming and received her teaching degree.

On Aug. 4, 1940, she married Dale Pugh. They moved to Hermiston in the 1950s. Mrs. Pugh taught high school at Stanfield for a time, then taught sixth grade at Park Hall and in the Locust School building, retiring in 1963.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, in 1998.

Survivors include daughters, Ann Peters of Woodburn and Sylvia Bush of Hermiston; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
