HERMISTON - A graveside funeral service for Doris M. Irwin will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the Hermiston Cemetery

Mrs. Irwin, 72, of Hermiston, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at her home.

She was born July 11, 1932, at Hugo, Okla., to Jessie and Susie Steadman Grimes. She was raised in the Albany, Ore., area.

On Nov. 29, 1947, she married Clayton E. Irwin at Corvallis. They moved to Kansas in 1950 and to Hermiston, Oregon in 1965.

Mrs. Irwin worked 11 years for Marlette Homes in the cabinet shop.

The Irwins moved to Irrigon in 1972 and returned to Hermiston in 1991.

She was employed at Lamb Weston in Boardman as a trimmer and in the lab before her retirement in 1997.

Mrs. Irwin enjoyed sewing, quilting, flowers, and watching baseball on TV.

Survivors include her sons, Clayton "Russ" Irwin of Benton City, Wash.; and Larry Irwin of Irrigon; brother, Jess Grimes of Salem; sisters, Ruth, Margie, and Shirley; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Irwin was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton E. Irwin, in 1999, by her parents, a brother, a sister, and a half-brother.
