HERMISTON - George Edward Huston died Thursday, July 26, 2007. He was 63.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. A private family memorial service will be held on Sunday. Disposition will be by cremation.

Mr. Huston was born June 18, 1944, in Maries County, Mo., to Charles Benton and Virgie Alvena Smith Huston. He graduated from Belle Senior High School in Belle, Mo., in 1961.

He later joined the U.S. Army and served three tours in Vietnam.

He married Blanche A. Kauwe on Dec. 25, 1966, in Richland, Wash. They lived in Lonedale, Mo., and Rolla, Mo. In 1981, they moved to Hermiston.

Mr. Huston worked for the City of Hermiston at the wastewater treatment plant. In 2002, he was named "Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator of the Year."

He is survived by his wife; mother; children CherieDawn Robins, Janelle Hopkins, Jason Huston and Heather Huston, all of Hermiston; sister Phyllis Hollingsworth of St. James, Mo.; brothers Jim Huston of Hermiston and Don Huston of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
