FRUITLAND, Idaho - James R. "Jim" Rich, 74, of Fruitland, Idaho, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise of heart failure.

A graveside funeral service for Mr. Rich will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Riverside Cemetery in Payette, Idaho.

Mr. Rich was born May 24, 1931, at Payette, Idaho, to Cecil and Alberta Smith Rich. He later moved with his family to Pendleton where he graduated from Pendleton High School in 1949.

He married Verna McClain. They were parents of two children, Linda and Randy. They later divorced.

In 1958, Mr. Rich moved to Auburn, Wash.

On Oct. 5, 1962, he married Charlotte "Faye" Barrios.

Mr. Rich was employed at Rohr Industries at Auburn, as a manufacturing engineer, retiring in 1988, after 33 years with the company. He retired to his hometown, Payette.

He had been a member of the Jaycees and the Eagles.

He enjoyed working around his home.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Charlotte, of Fruitland; daughter, Linda Spangle of Portland, son, Randy Rich and his wife, Sharon, of Mountain Home, Idaho; stepson, Vincent Barrios of Livingston, Mont.; sisters, Betty Rich and Wanda McKinstry, both of Pendleton; grandchildren, Stacy, Brian, Andrew, and Nicholas; an aunt, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his stepfather, Earl Puyear, and by his brother, Leonard.
