IRRIGON - A memorial service for Janice Jean "Jan" Romp will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 S.W. Dorion in Pendleton Inurnment will follow at the Pilot Rock Cemetery.

Ms. Romp, 45, of Irrigon, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital in Portland.

She was born Feb. 11, 1958, at Britt, Iowa, to Willard "Bill" and Margaret Quintus Romp. She lived in Iowa until 1963 when she moved with her parents to North Platte, Neb. In 1965, they moved to Portland. She later moved to Spokane and in 1976, to Pendleton. She worked at US Gypsum in Pilot Rock until 1992, then moved to Irrigon and took a job with the Department of Transportation at the Port of Entry Scales in Umatilla County, where she was employed until her death.

She enjoyed painting, flowers, crafts, sewing, computers, reading, embroidery work and loved her dogs.

Survivors include her father, Willard Romp of Stanfield; her mother, Margaret Allen of Umatilla; a stepson, Michael Perry in Florida; a stepdaughter, Kandi Rodgers in Kentucky; a brother, Rollie Romp of Salem; sisters, Soni Lynn Gittel of Long Beach, Wash., and Juli Ann Sunderlin of Spokane; a grandson, Dominic Rodgers; and other relatives.
