PENDLETON -Joanna Harris, 63, of Pendleton, died Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Kennewick General Hospital.

A graveside service was held beginning at 10 a.m. today at the Elgin Cemetery.

Mrs. Harris was born Oct. 3, 1941, at Yakima, to Charles and Eunice Hendren Bright. She moved with her family to Milton-Freewater in 1946 and to Elgin in 1954.

In 1958, she married Barton Harris. The couple later divorced.

She enjoyed gardening and rockhounding. She was said to be a talented artist who enjoyed leatherwork, painting, making dolls and Native American artwork.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jeff Southwick of Reedsport; her sons, Kevin Harris and his wife, Teri, of Pilot Rock, and Robert Harris of Gresham; brother, Emmett Poteete of Milton Freewater, sister, Phyllis Thom of Kennewick; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister, LaVerne Horrell.

Loveland Funeral Chapel, 1508 4th Street, La Grande was in charge of arrangements.
