PENDLETON - Lawrence E. Treadway, 83, of Pendleton, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton with burial at Olney Cemetery.

Mr. Treadway was born Sept. 27, 1919, in Tennessee to Benjamin Franklin and Lillie Nave Treadway.

He married Gladys M. Wilson, and in 1965 the couple moved to Newport.

Mr. Treadway was a general contractor. His first Oregon project was to build a municipal swimming pool for the city of Newport. Over the next 30 years he completed numerous municipal, commercial and residential projects. His work took him to the Portland area for 15 years, and then to the Pendleton area where he continued working before deciding to take a semi-retirement to spend more time hunting, fishing and traveling.

He attended Pendleton Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife at the home.
