HELIX - A graveside funeral service for Lelamae Blevins will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Helix Cemetery.

Mrs. Blevins, 81, of Helix, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at her home.

She was born July 10, 1922, at Pendleton, to John "Jack" V. and Lillian I. English Rose. She grew up at Helix and graduated from Helix High School in 1940.

On Nov. 24, 1942, she married Thomas S. Blevins at Stevens, Wash. They moved to Helix in 1945.

Mrs. Blevins had been employed at Lamb-Weston, at St. Anthony Hospital, and as a secretary for Farmers Mutual Co-op in Helix.

She enjoyed oil painting and all types of arts and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Blevins, on May 26, 1990.

Survivors include her son, Michael K. Blevins of Umatilla; sister, Evadene Sullivan of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews; and 14 great-grandchildren.
