HERMISTON - Lloyed Jacob Schlaht died on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at his home in Hermiston. He was 83. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at the Hermiston Seventh-day Adventist Church. Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.

Mr. Schlaht was born May 25, 1924, to Jacob and Elizabeth Hagen Schlaht in Cleveland, N.D.

He met and married Irene Graff on June 15, 1944. They lived in Cleveland, N.D., moved to Montana, while Lloyed worked for U & I Sugar and later moved to Toppenish, Wash. Following that, they moved to Spokane and worked with the Upper Columbia Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church.

In 1989 they retired and moved to Hermiston.

Mr. Schlaht was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Stanfield Food Bank and the Hermiston Hatrock Hounds Rock Club.

Lloyed is survived by his wife; sons Roger and Terry, both of Hermiston; daughter Pamela Griffin of Pendleton; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Earl; and sisters Lorraine and Shirley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stanfield Food Bank.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
