HERMISTON - Long-time Umatilla County resident Mary Josephine Corbett died Jan. 22, 2007, at Good Shepherd Medical Center. She was 89.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hermiston Cem- etery.

Mrs. Corbett was born April 4, 1917, in Fullerton, Neb., to James "Frank" and Nina Mone Lamb. She was raised in Nebraska and moved with her family to the Willamette Valley when she was 19.

She married Ray Edward Corbett on Oct. 16, 1937, in Stevenson, Wash.

They raised hops and had a gravel pit in Ontario, then moved back to the Willamette Valley where they owned an RV park. They moved to Umatilla in 1967 and to Hermiston in 1985.

Mrs. Corbett was a homemaker; she enjoyed cooking, reading, garage sales, animals, and gardening.

She is survived by daughters Karen Marie Johnson of Portland, Jacquelyn Rae Smith and Dianne Kay Corbett both of Hermiston; son Michael Rae Corbett of Hermiston; and three granddaughters.

Mrs. Corbett was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; her parents; brother Warren J. Lamb; and a grandson.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
