MEACHAM - While basin dwellers fumbled through freezing fog, Meacham residents enjoyed a record-high temperature Thursday.

Meteorologists at the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Pendleton reported the thermometer reached 48 degrees at Meacham, easing above the record of 47 degrees set there on Jan. 25, 2003.

Patchy morning fog and cloudy days are forecast to continue in the basin through Sunday with high temperatures in the mid-30s and lows in the mid-20s. If you want to see the sun, head for the mountains, but take your coat. The highs there are expected to be in the mid- to upper-30s and lows in the teens.
