OBITUARIES: Robert Aarron 'Rob' Hess


WALLA WALLA - Robert Aarron "Rob" Hess, 30, of Weston died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla. A "potluck" wake will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at Katherine Hess's home in Weston (contact family for directions). Private inurnment will take place at the Hermiston Cemetery.

Mr. Hess was born Dec. 30, 1977, in Hermiston to James Ell and Katherine Kyoko (Rager) Hess. He was raised in Hermiston and graduated high school there in 1997. He worked as a laborer in various jobs and had lived in Hermiston, Pendleton, Walla Walla, Athena and Milton-Freewater.

He enjoyed drawing, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Hess is survived by his mother, Katherine Hess of Weston; grandparents Josephine Horn of Hermiston and Floyd and Mitzie Hess of Heppner; stepfathers Michael Lenihan of Athena and Leonard Buck of Hermiston; daughters Kyoko and Lolita Hess, both of Hermiston; brother Lawrence Hess of Hermiston; sister Lillie Stemple of Weston; one niece and two nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Hess, in 1990; grandmother Mariam Hess; grandfather Lawrence "Larry" Horn; and aunt Gail Hess.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
