PORTLAND - Dennis J. Bagnall, 68, of Pendleton died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, in a Portland hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Burial will follow in Olney Cemetery in Pendleton.
Mr. Bagnall was born Oct. 30, 1940, in Baker City to Edward and Ada (Baldock) Bagnall. He later had a stepfather, Clifford Brewer. He moved with his family to Pendleton and graduated from Pendleton High School. After high school he attended college at Eastern Oregon University and received a teaching degree.
He began his teaching and coaching career in Hermiston, where he taught at Hermiston High School for several years. Later he taught and coached at Blue Mountain Community College for many years.
He loved all sports, be it playing, coaching or watching. He greatly loved to play and watch baseball, especially the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed the company of his loving pet Shilo Rose Bagnall.
Mr. Bagnall is survived by sister Kathy Gillet of Pendleton; brother Edward Bagnall of Bremerton, Wash.; great-nephew Jerome Bagnall, who he considered a son; and Jerome's four children, who called him Grandpa.
