OBITUARY: Georgia Anna Irvin


HERMISTON - Georgia Anna Irvin, 77, of Irrigon died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. A gathering will be held at the Lexington Lodge Hall after the burial.

Mrs. Irvin was born Sept. 15, 1931, at the family ranch in Lexington to Ted and Florence Spence McMillan. She was raised there and graduated from Lexington High School. She married George Irvin in 1949.

The Irvins lived in many locations around the state of Oregon, following George's career in road construction. They settled in Irrigon in 1978.

Mrs. Irvin is survived by son William (Bill) Irvin; daughters Valda Smith of Hermiston and Vicky Bowen of Woodburn; sister Patricia Cool of Pendleton; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Irvin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Hospital in Walla Walla.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
