OBITUARY: Harriet M. Baird

Harriet M. Baird, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Milton-Freewater. At her request, no public services will be held.

Mrs. Baird was born to William Henry and Tanna J. (Tuil) Noble on July 2, 1920, in Menahga, Minn. She attended elementary school in Minnesota. On Dec. 2, 1935, she married Lloyd Francis Baird. The couple lived in Minnesota before moving to Pendleton in 1942, where she worked as a machine operator for Harris Pine Mill. The couple later moved to Enumclaw, Wash. where they lived until 1980 when Lloyd preceded her in death. Harriet lived in Montana for a time before finally settling in Milton-Freewater in 2005. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and baking.

Survivors include her children, Connie Wick of Billings, Mont., and Dennis Baird of Elgin; two sisters, Wilma Pearson of Milton-Freewater and Marge Johnson of Gresham; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Her children, Janet Henderson and Rex Baird, preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Harriet M. Baird to a charity of choice in care of Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, Oregon 97862.
