PENDLETON - Jane Dieter, 68, of Pendleton died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at her home following an illness. At her request, no services will be held. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a future time.

Mrs. Dieter was born Oct. 27, 1940, in Susanville, Calif., to Leland and Verna Wood. She attended school at Lassen Union High School and graduated in 1958. She then attended business college in Reno, Nev. She married Raymond Dieter, also of Susanville, in 1962.

She moved to Oregon in 1971, and then to Pendleton in 1986.

She worked as a homemaker most of her life. She also worked as a bank teller, and as a clerk at Pendleton Book Co.

Mrs. Dieter is survived by her husband of 46 years, Raymond Dieter; daughters Cynthia Dieter of Lakeside and Teresa Thompson of Pendleton; mother Verna Wood and brother Leland Edward Wood Jr., both of Susanville, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leland Edward Wood Sr., and twin sister Joan Sealey.
