OREGON CITY - Lorren Keith "Monty" Montgomery, 68, of Pendleton died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at his daughter's home in Oregon City. Viewing will be held from 1-6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17 at Skyview Memorial Park in Pendleton.
Mr. Montgomery was born Sept. 28, 1941, in Hermiston to Lorren G. and Lois (Dye) Montgomery. He was raised in the Hermiston and Pendleton area. In 1958 he joined the Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge in 1965. He married Marylee Monroe in 1971 in Alaska; the couple later divorced.
He lived in California, Texas, Alaska and Louisiana before moving back to Pendleton in 1983. He owned and operated two businesses in Pendleton, Monty's Garage and Monty's 1 Stop Auto. He also worked for Comrie's of Pendleton and Carners of Pendleton. In 1991 he married Deborah Kuban in Pendleton.
Mr. Montgomery is survived by his wife, Deborah Montgomery of Elgin; daughters Connie Ball of Oregon City, Denise Taylor of Prosser, Wash., Christine Daniels of Seattle, Kim Winfield of Connecticut, Susan Montgomery of Pendleton and Wendy Montgomery of Reno, Nev.; sons Lorren "Joe" Montgomery of Pilot Rock, Michael Dumont of Pendleton and Dan Dumont of Pendleton; sisters Sandra Labelle of Tumalo and Linda Severance of Sparks, Nev.; 44 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters Lorna Mae Montgomery, Pauline Ford and Tammy Rossiter; and son Mark Rossitier.
