OBITUARY: Pearl M. Biddle


ASTORIA - Pearl M. Biddle, 82, of Astoria died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, in Astoria. Visitation will be held from 1-6 p.m. Monday, March 30 at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1 at Astoria First Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.

Mrs. Biddle was born April 19, 1926, in Taylorville to Vincent "Smokey" and Frances (Haworth) Day. She married Bob Biddle Sr. in 1948 in the Knappa-Svensen area; they later divorced, and Bob died in 2006. She lived for approximately a year in the Umatilla County area.

She worked in canneries and various restaurants on the Oregon Coast. She also was employed by Tongue Point Job Corps in Astoria and as an in-home caretaker for 20 years.

Mrs. Biddle is survived by sons Ron Biddle of Green Valley, Ariz., Dan Biddle of West Richland, Wash., Bob Biddle of Richland, Wash., and Ted Biddle of Pendleton; daughter Kathy Link of Astoria; foster daughter Sabrinna Simmons of Astoria; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four sisters; three brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; one sister; and one great-granddaughter.
