OBITUARY: Robert Dainis Matthews

PROSSER, Wash. - Robert Dainis "Bobby" Mathews, 20, of Irrigon died Friday, July 31, 2009, in an auto accident near Prosser, Wash. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Disposition was by cremation.

Mr. Mathews was born Aug. 23, 1988, in Hermiston to Richard and Mary Mathews. He attended and graduated from Irrigon High School in 2007. He was an employee of the Hermiston Walmart for several months until they transferred him to the Sunnyside, Wash., store.

Survivors include his parents, Richard and Mary Mathews of Irrigon; grandmother Eva Mathews of Ethel, La.; half-brother Richard (Ricky) Mathews Jr. of New Roads, La.; aunts Peggy Lee and Irene Auchland; uncle Arvids Dumpis; and a niece and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dalford (Bob) Mathews, and grandparents Harold and Milda Dumpis.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
