HERMISTON - A memorial service for Owen Clement Corley will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Hermiston. Disposition was by cremation.

Mr. Corley, 84, a retired Hermiston optometrist, died Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Good Samaritan Center.

He was born Feb. 6, 1920, at Batiste, Okla., to Walter "Ode" and Ora Risenhoover Corley.

On Nov. 11, 1945, he married Eilene Richey at Pendleton.

He served with the Army Air Force overseas for more than three years during World War II. He was discharged with the rank of major.

Mr. Corley had been a resident of Hermiston since 1950. He was an optometrist for more than 50 years, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Masons, the Shriners, the Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Eilene Corley of Hermiston; son, Lance Corley of Pendleton; daughters, Carla Huegli of Portland, Sandra Reichhoff of Kalispell, Mont., and Rebecca Corley of Sequim, Wash.; a sister, Lucille Wellman of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ode and Ora Corley, by a brother, Hollis Corley, and by a sister, Eva Diggs.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
