Don’t come around here no more

An employee of 7-11, 775 S. Highway 395, Hermiston, called police at 10:46 a.m. to complain about a group of six or seven males that hang around the back of the building smoking. “They do this every day and I do not want them in the store,” the caller said.

I can walk it off

A car struck a man at 11:17 a.m. in the 300 block of Southeast Nye Avenue. A 9-1-1 caller said the man refused an ambulance and was “limping a little bit.”

Fight in the park

Hermiston police shortly before noon responded to a couple of 9-1-1 calls about a fight at Hodge Park, 100 E. Highland Ave. Police arrested two young men, one 18, one 19, both of Hermiston, on misdemeanor charges of second-degree disorderly conduct.

Not such a safe place

The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office at 12:01 p.m. received a theft report of $6,500 in cash from a lockbox at Columbia River Ranch Residential Facility, 70362 Kunze Lane, Boardman.

Get ’em on the books

Oregon State Police Trooper Lisa Slater registered another pair of sex offenders who were locked up in the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton.

Kevin James Richards, 54, hadn’t registered per court order for the last two years. He was in the jail for violating his parole. And Jamie Eugene Wilcox, 35, had skipped out of doing so for three years. He was in jail on warrants and a parole violation as well. Slater noted Wilcox had failed to register as a sex offender for the last three years.

Slater registered each. The men also face charges of failing to register as sex offenders.

Tough love

A father called Hermiston police at 5:25 p.m. to report his son may be involved in the recent rash of vehicle break-ins.

Have to check out all of them

Pendleton police at 9:35 p.m received a call from a woman who said she may know people connected to the recent armed robbery of RadioShack. Police have been getting tips about possible suspects almost daily.

He was easy to spot

Hermiston police at 10:12 p.m. received a report that a man had knocked over a mail box in the 400 block of East Ridgeway Avenue. The caller said the suspect was shirtless, had a backpack and was wearing baseball shorts. He also was walking with a female who was wearing a yellow shirt. Police found the suspect and arrested him for misdemeanor third-degree criminal mischief.
