Disturbing

Police received a report at 2:17 p.m. from a resident in the 1600 block of Southwest Hailey Avenue in Pendleton about animal abuse. The caller said an early teen who “has admittedly killed several animals in the home” is returning there “against medical advice.” Further, the caller said the child’s parents are aware of the situation and are not removing the animals or seeking care for child.


A good son after a scammer

A Pendleton man at 4:02 p.m. on the 1400 block of Southeast Court Place reported a “door-to-door salesman” had come to his house and harassed his 70-year-old mother, who ended up buying a $4,000 for air filtering system. The man said he believes hiss mother was “ripped off and manipulated to buy something that she didn't want to buy.” To top it off, the man said, the scam artist probably didn’t have a business license.


Get him out of here

A family in the 200 block of Southwest Third Street of Pendleton called police at 4:30 p.m. because a registered sex offender refused to leave their home. The caller said there are children in the house.

She hopes you get him

A woman in the 1300 block of Southwest Second Street in Pendleton called police at 8:40 p.m to report a man had been hiding in her closet. She said the suspect ran when she found him. Police couldn’t find the man, but the woman provided his name and description of his car.

SATURDAY

Assault out of the blue

A woman at 12:36 a.m. reported she and her boyfriend walked out of Whistler’s Pub, 138 S. Main St., Pendleton, and another woman “maced them.” Police responded to the popular downtown bar, but the caller was in a restroom washing her face at the time. Later, she called police again and said she had the name of a suspect and wanted to press charges.

Dog continues to annoy neighborhood

A resident in the 700 block of Southeast Seventh Street in Pendleton called police at 8:45 a.m. to report the neighbor’s German Shepherd “is barking all hours.” The caller wanted police to contact the dog’s owner about this complaint. This has been an on-going issues with this dog and owner.

During the past few months, residents in this neighborhood have called about the dog several times.

Sound like they took everything

A man in the 500 block of Northwest 14th Street in Pendleton reported someone broke into his residence the night before and stole a Play Station 3, an Xbox 360, four controllers, a Super Nintendo, 30 games, a GPS, a digital camera and possibly more.

Not on my car, buster

Pendleton police received a reported at 12:34 p.m. that a man in the 100 block of Southeast Court Street had urinated on a customer's vehicle. The suspect was inside a nearby tavern, the caller said.

Is this against the law?

A caller in the 100 block of Southeast Ninth Street in Pendleton reported a man who had been a problem had returned to the neighborhood and was going through boxes boxes and “being an idiot.”

Neighbor phones in about DV

At 12:49 p.m., a resident in the 1300 block of Northwest Ellis Avenue in Pendleton called police about a possible case of domestic violence. The caller said a man was chasing a woman in the neighborhood and the woman yelled, “Why are you always hitting me?” The caller said they couple ran back into their residence.

Thankfully they missed

A woman in the vicinity of 54300  Upper Dry Creek Road in Weston reported someone shot and almost hit her husband. She told dispatchers she owns 160 acres and her husband got on a motorcycle to find the shooter. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office responded.

SUNDAY

No one beamed him up

A man claiming he was “Capt. Kirk” came into the Perfect Look Saloons at 1730 S.W. Court Ave. in Pendleton. An employee called police and said the man had blood on himself. Police responded and talked to the man, who had a broken nose but refused medical help.

Got him in the act

A man living in the vicinity of 84300 Highway 339, Milton-Freewater caught a suspect who was breaking into the man’s car. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office responded and arrested the 19-year-old suspect for attempting to break into the vehicle.

Staying on top of it

Pendleton Fire and Ambulance answered 30 calls for service from Thursday at 8:21a.m. though Sunday at 11:25 p.m. The calls included transporting an injured man Friday night after a vehicle had hit mim on Highway 37 and three calls about injuries Sunday morning.

BUSTED

Milton-Freewater police arrested David Lin Hinton, 56, 1336 Third St., Baker City, for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII).

Pendleton police arrested the following this weekend:

Mary Mae Patton, 23, of 70614 Motanic Road, Pendleton for DUII, and cited her for refusing breath test and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Dominique Quins-Reitz, 19, of 1300 N.W. Carden Ave. Apt. C2, Pendleton for DUII and cited her for minor in possession of alcohol.

Oregon State police arrested the following this weekend:

Duron Marquis Douglas, 22, of Page, Ariz., for 86040 DUII, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and no driver’s license.

John Patrick Snyder, 51, of 130 Claudia Court., Stanfield, for DUII and refusing a breath test.
