Miscellaneous

A wooden cow was taken Sunday night in the 800 block of Northwest Carden Avenue in Pendleton. The family that owns the three-foot-tall, four-foot-long wooden cow received an anonymous call that night that said, "your cow is gone." The cow was made by a family member.

A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier reported to the Umatilla County Sheriff's Office a possible incident of mail theft in Milton-Freewater. The carrier said a man was taking mail from boxes on the 1500 block of North Elizabeth Street and had gone through 15 to 18 boxes when he reported it. The carrier didn't confront the man at the time, saying personal safety was an issue.
