8:40 a.m. - Pendleton police looked into an assault report at Pendleton High School, 1800 N.W. Carden Ave.

9:39 a.m. - A Hermiston resident told police he was the target of a con. He said he was supposed to receive $9,200 in a government grant at the Hermiston Walmart, but first he had to buy a gift card.

10:53 a.m. - Umatilla residents on Gordon Court asked to speak to police about code enforcement issues with neighbors’ dogs.

10:55 a.m. - Stanfield police again issued multiple citations to 3D Idapro for odor complaints.

11:47 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a report of drug activity on Devore Road at McNary Dam, Pendleton.

12:13 p.m. - Emergency services responded to the westbound side of Interstate 84 near milepost 151 west of Boardman for a person who suffered a broken leg resulting in an “obvious deformity” from a motorcycle. An ambulance took the victim to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston.

1:51 p.m. - A resident at Sunridge Retirement Community, Pendleton, asked to speak to an officer about an online scam.

2 p.m. - A 911 caller reported gunfire sparked a grass fire at Highway 395 and Forest Service Road 53.

2:16 p.m. - Pendleton police received a report of child abuse. The case is under investigation.

5:38 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report of child abuse.

7:20 p.m. - A caller at Mountain View Drive and Kunze Lane, Boardman, reported a male grabbed her by the throat and hit her.

7:25 p.m. - An intoxicated man yelled at all the passersby at the Umatilla RV Park, 1551 Sixth St., Umatilla.

9:45 p.m. - Pendleton police responded to a 911 call reporting domestic violence at Northwest 10th Street and Aura Avenue.

Saturday

•Milton-Freewater police arrested Benjamin Niles Rice, 31, of Milton-Freewater, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Monday

•Hermiston police late Monday arrested Dustin James Diteman, 32, no address available, for second-degree kidnapping. The investigation revealed Diteman committed more crimes on Interstate 84 near milepost 87 in Wasco County. Oregon State Police arrested Diteman for strangulation, fourth-degree assault, harassment and interference with making a report.

State court records show the Wasco County District Attorney’s Office filed initial charges against Diteman for the interference plus domestic violence charges of strangulation, fourth-degree assault, menacing and coercion. The last charge is the only felony.

Diteman remains in the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton.
